World Polio Day Raise for Rotary Challenge

01. Complete the online signup form to receive the link to join the initiative on Raise For Rotary

02. Once you complete and submit the online form, you will receive the special link to join the initiative on Raise for Rotary and can proceed to the next steps

03. When the R4R page loads, you should see the following

04. We have already set up many of the fundraiser basics (e.g. all funds raised go directly to TRF’s PolioPlus Fund), so please do not be concerned that you are already on step 5 and please do not click the link to go “back”

05. The default currency is set for USD, but please feel free to change it to your preferred currency if applicable

06. Please select your target amount for fundraising either from the three listed options (US $250, $500 or $1500) or enter a specific other custom amount you plan to raise and click “Choose”

07. On the next page, you will begin Step 6 in R4R, by providing details on either your club or yourself

08. If you are creating a fundraiser as a club

a) If your club already has an account on Raise for Rotary, scroll the the bottom of the page and select “I already have an account”...enter your club’s username and password and once logged in, review steps 8b thru 8f and see if you would like to make any changes…if not proceed to step 10

b) Enter your club name (e.g. Sunrise Valley) in the First Name field

c) Enter “Rotary Club” or “Rotaract Club” in the Last Name field 

d) A default username will be generated with a dash separating first and last name words…you can leave this as is and save it somewhere as it will be needed to log into the Raise for Rotary platform in the future

e) Enter your club’s email address in the Email field…if your club does not have its own email address, please use your own or an appropriate alternative to which you or whomever will be in charge of the fundraiser will have access (the email address used will receive notifications and updates regarding the fundraiser and/or any contributions received)

f) Enter a password…ensure to remember and/or save this password somewhere as it will be needed to login into the Raise for Rotary platform in the future

g) Select your country from the drop-down list…this should be the country in which your club is located

h) If you would like your club to receive credit for donations which would count towards its US $1500 annual goal and/or receive foundation recognition points for donations from non-members, select “Rotary Club” or “Rotaract Club” and enter your club ID number (please ensure you enter the correct club ID number)

i) Select “Create my account” and proceed to step 10

09. If you are creating a fundraiser as a member

a) If you already have a (personal) account on Raise for Rotary, scroll the the bottom of the page and select “I already have an account”...enter your (personal) username and password and once logged in, review steps 9b thru 9f and see if you would like to make any changes…if not process to step 10

b) Enter your first name (e.g. John) in the First Name field

c) Enter your last name (e.g. Doe) in the Last Name field

d) A default username will be generated with a dash separating your first and last names…you can leave this as is or alter it if you prefer - just remember to save it somewhere as it will be needed to log into the Raise for Rotary platform in the future

e) Enter your (personal) email address in the Email field (the email address used will receive notifications and updates regarding the fundraiser and/or any contributions received)

f) Enter a password…ensure to remember and/or save this password somewhere as it will be needed to login into the Raise for Rotary platform in the future

g) Select your country from the drop-down list…this should be the country in which you reside

h) If you would like your club to receive credit for donations which would count towards its US $1500 annual goal and/or receive foundation recognition points for donations from non-members, select “Rotary Club” or “Rotaract Club” and enter your club ID number (please ensure you enter the correct club ID number)

i) Select “Create my account” and proceed to step 10

10. In the next page, you will see the following pop-up welcoming your club or yourself and asking if you would like to take a tour of Raise for Rotary. You should take the tour to familiarize yourself with the platform and/or then proceed to step 11

11. When exploring your fundraiser, you can click on the “Zones 33/34 WPD Team” link to see all others who are participating in the initiative

The three main functions available to you are “Edit your fundraiser” (which is where you will customize things specific to you or your club), “Write an update” (which is where you can regularly post additional updated and information regarding your fundraiser, and “Share QR Code” (which is what generates a shareable QR Code that can be downloaded and added to any designs or used as is to promote your fundraiser). If you already had an account on Raise for Rotary, feel free to review steps 13 and 14 and make any changes, or proceed to step 15

13. Click “Edit your fundraiser” and on the new page select “Edit profile”

14. On the profile page, click “Upload Image” and add your club logo (if the fundraiser is under your club name) or a picture of yourself (if the fundraiser is under your name)...image should be square in shape at least 250px x250px for best results). Once image is uploaded, click “Save Changes”

15. To return to your fundraiser, select your profile image at the top right of the screen and click “My fundraiser”

16. Back on your fundraiser’s page, select “Edit your fundraiser” and proceed to the Fundraiser image section of the screen - this is where you can alter the cover image of your fundraiser. Select “Upload image” (to add your own custom image for your fundraiser) or “Choose from selection” (to select a stock image for your fundraiser). If uploading a custom image, please ensure that any image you upload is at least 747px x 485px in size and should be designed with polio in mind (e.g. WPD, PolioPlus, EndPolioNow, etc.)...you can find additional imagery to use and customize on EndPolio.org and/or the Rotary Brand Center

17. Scroll to the next section titled “Your content”. Under “Fundraiser title”, you can rename your fundraiser to include anything specific and more meaningful to you or your club once related to polio (e.g. Sunrise Valley Fights Polio). Under “Motivational text”, you can include description and/or inspirational words on your fundraiser to help motivate persons to donate (e.g. Sunrise Valley Rotary club asks you to donate now and join the fight against polio and help Rotary eradicate this disease the world over)

18. Scroll to the next section titled “Goals”. Under “End Date”, select a date no earlier than 24th October 2024…you are free to run your fundraiser as long as you would like, but only funds collected through 24th October 2024 will be counted towards the Zones 33/34 initiative.

19. Scroll to the next section titled “Offline donations”. Here you can enter and save details on donations you or your club receive via cash, cheque, bank transfer, etc. and have them count towards the fundraiser. You can enter information on donations as they are received by returning to this section at any time and repeating this step

20. Once all changes are made, click “Save changes” at the bottom of the page. This will return you to your fundraiser’s main page where the information you added/edited in the previous steps should be evident

21. You can now share your fundraiser with others using the QR code (as described above which also provides a unique URL) or you can use the “Share fundraiser” button which will allow you to share directly to Facebook, X (aka Twitter) or via email…for better reach and engagement, you may want to share your fundraiser multiple times in multiple forums (e.g. email, SMS/WhatsApp, social media, websites, etc.) over the duration of your fundraiser

22. You can also register your participation in this World Polio Day initiative on EndPolio.org via this link to show clubs around the world what you are doing and help inspire others.

23. During the course of your fundraiser, you can post updates and announcements to the main page using the “Write an update” function…this will helps to keep persons engaged and aware of how close you are to your goal and if you need additional support
