Rotary Zones 33-34 - Polio Plus National Immunization Days

There an opportunity to travel to India in 2012 to experience a National Immunization Day. I hope you will share this with Rotarians and friends in your Clubs and District.

My Club, The Rotary Club of Maysville and The Rotary Club of Dhanbad (India) became twin city Clubs and have done many projects together including setting up a library and sponsoring numerous Saheli Centers for poor women.

Since that time I’ve learned much about the culture, customs, and people of India. Rotarians throughout the country have become close friends and we have joined in spreading hope to those less fortunate through many Matching Grants, Youth Programs and hands on projects.

In 2010 I led the first NID from District 7730 and Zone 33. Thirty-seven Rotarians from 10 different Districts participated in this life altering experience. In 2011, 26 Rotarians had the experience of a lifetime during another trip.

It is my honor and pleasure to offer this life altering experience to you in February 2012. We will not only be participating in the NID but visiting Rotary projects and completing a hands on project as well.

Day 1 Arrive Delhi–overnight

Day 2 Rest day—overnight—-Afternoon tour of New Delhi and C.P.

Day 3 WHO and Polio Plus Old Delhi tour—overnight

Day 4 Move to Agra —Afternoon tour of Taj Mahal Overnight

Day 5 Morning tour Red Fort Drive to Delhi to take flight to Calcutta

Day 6 Morning rest—afternoon tour of Calcutta Rotary meeting in evening—overnight

Day 7 Tour of Rotary projects in Calcutta overnight

Day 8 Drive to Dhanbad - Afternoon tour of Jaipur Limb clinic and Polio Surgeries, etc
Host Families

Day 9 NID - Host families - Evening Rotary meeting

Day 10 NID Mop Up Day in villages and train stations - Afternoon begin hands on project - Host families

Day 11 All day hands on project - Host families

Day 12 Leave for Calcutta and flight back to Delhi - Leave for USA

Day 13 Optional overnight in Delhi
