HAITI EARTHQUAKE is OVERWHELMING

Our own RI Vice President & Director Eric Adamson is a member of the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund Account Holders, who have been designated to administer the FUNDS collected through the Donor Advised Fund (DAF) that The Rotary Foundation has established for this disaster in Haiti.

And, Director Eric is asking that you share this information with your club presidents and members in your districts that would like to contribute to the relief efforts established via this DAF.

Clubs and individuals can also make their donations at www.rotary.org/haiti, and read more about this disaster from the Rotary viewpoint.

Text your $5 HAITI contribution via DAF-TRF

Good afternoon,

I am pleased to announce that US Rotarians can now easily contribute $5 to the Haiti DAF via text message (just text ROTARY to 90999). This announcement will be posted on our social network sites as well.

Please note the updated article on what Rotary is doing in Haiti. At the end of the article,  you’ll see a link to the DAF PDF (same as posted last week) as well as a new PDF of FAQs that will hopefully answer many of the questions Rotarians have been asking.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

D7610 Gov. Horace McCormack

I am sure you are very aware and concerned about the catastrophic earthquake and devastation in nearby Haiti.   Yes, this is a true tragedy and we are all shaken by the news and feeling great emotional pain.   After all, this is a country (and District) that is in our Zone 34, and a District that many well thinking Rotarians have been concerned about and supporting for quite sometime.  They have had there full share of challenges over the years and now this!  How unfortunate!    I know that many individuals and clubs have past, current and future projects planned to support some systems or humanitarian need inside of the country, but the landscape has been literally changed and we are not yet sure to what dimensions.

At this time, we are not even sure of the total losses of lives and the injuries suffered but we know the numbers are large…  Millions are homeless and will no doubt exponentially increase the need for support where Health, Hunger, Water and Sanitation are concerned.

The best way HELP now is to make a contribution to the DAF established for the Haiti Relief efforts.
