D7610 - School Collects Money for Shelter Boxes
Here is a brief story shared with me by Colleen Bonadonna, President of the West Point Club (D7610):
Dear Gov. Horace,
I am so pleased to share with you that after this morning's Rotary meeting, our member and West Point High School Principal Mark Dorsey approached the students and faculty, and in one day raised $1000 for the first of four shelter boxes.
Keep in mind that West Point is a small school, graduating 60 students per year and does not have an interact club. They did have two students attend the past RYLA who are very familiar with shelter box program.
Their goal is to raise an additional $3000 by the end of January (2 weeks), which I am confident they will do. West Point High School is a shining example for all other schools.
